You'd think it would be less shallow than this.

From triangle to intangible shape.
We've come to this.

See it for what it really is.
Forget the faults.
Forget the wrong doings.

We need renewing.

Where are we looking?
Where are we truly looking?
What will suffice?

It's in the trees.
It's in the clouds.
It's in the breeze all around us.

Take a step back.
When will we see?
What we are searching for
What is supposed to be beautiful
Is tearing us apart.
What a beautiful downfall.

Let's all take a step back.
Let's all see it for what it is.
Forget this.
Drop that.
Refocus.

Let's stop searching.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
What are we meant for?
To be tangled up in a shape?
Naw, dude,
We are called for so much more.
We are called for discipleship.

So look up.
It's in those clouds we forgot about
And instead we built an altar in it's place.
So busy coming back to it
That we forget the beauty of the sky and the trees
and the breeze all around us.
The price was already paid.

Take a step back from that altar.
Look up and stay fixed there.
Stay there and be refined by Him.
Stop searching and coming up with ruins
The ruins that were made from all of this.

Maybe what we are searching for
Has been out there all along.
Maybe we need to wait.
Maybe it will find us.

When we are content in not looking for
The one thing we always wanted.
